On October 13th, 2017, the NRS platform animal models in pulmonary research organizes the 7th symposium in Utrecht, David de Wied building, M2.01, Universiteitsweg 99, 3584 CG Utrecht, de Uithof.
Our aim is to optimize the use of experimental models in lung research and to stimulate and facilitate collaborations between research groups of the academia and industry. During this 7th symposium, experts in the field, post-docs and PhD students will give an overview of the animal models and alternatives used in pulmonary research such as pulmonary infection, asthma, cough, COPD, lung emphysema, lung cancer, neonatal lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, lung repair and regeneration, etc. Our keynote speakers, professor dr Maria Belvisi, (Head Respiratory Pharmacology Group, Pharmacology and Toxicology Section, Imperial College London, London, UK) and dr Edith Hessel (VP and Head of Refractory Respiratory Inflammation Discovery Performance Unit, Glaxo Smith Kline, UK) and our honorary speaker professor dr Herman Meurs (Pharmacology, Groningen University, Groningen) will present on asthma, cough, COPD and drug development. We invite all NRS members that are (interested in) working with animal models in experimental pulmonary disease or associated research.
