On the 17th and 18th of June 2021 the NRS, in collaboration with the NVALT and Lung foundation Netherlands, will organize the Dutch Lung Congress as a fully online meeting. This meeting will build on the success of the scientific collaboration within the former annual lung meeting (Longdagen). Registration is open now.
Researchers who make patient participation an indispensable part of their research, can compete for the Sterk Participation Award this year again. Deadline: March 9, 2021, 10:00 a.m.

Dat blijkt uit recent onderzoek in Franciscus Gasthuis & Vlietland. Dat is een extra motivatie om in het nieuwe jaar af te vallen. ´De plaats waar het vet zit is belangrijk voor het risico op een ongunstig beloop bij Covid-19´, aldus Cathelijne van Zelst, arts-onderzoeker.
Hermelijn Smits (LUMC) has been elected as the NRS president for the coming 2 years last month.
Many patients who have had COVID-19 continue to have health complaints for a long period of time. The long-term effects of the damage caused by the virus and the body's response to it is unclear. A team of researchers, private parties and patient representatives will investigate how these complaints develop and which factors can predict them in future patients. The project is co-funded by the PPP Allowance made available by Top Sector Life Sciences & Health (Health~Holland).

GSK invites researchers in the Netherlands to send in an abstract in the field of respiratory research, regardless of specific focus area. Together with GSK, an expert panel would like to give five researchers the opportunity to share their research in an oral presentation. The Lung foundation Netherlands is committed to people who have permanent lung damage from corona. They want to use research to map out the long-term consequences of this virus on lung function, and to analyze solutions and the impact on daily life. They do this together with the Long Alliance Netherlands (LAN) in which more than thirty organizations are united in the field of prevention and care for people with lung diseases, including associations of lung patients, pulmonologists, general practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, companies and the scientific organization of lung researchers (NRS).
The registration fee of the Longdagen 2020 will be refunded to those who registered. We are working on the process to organize this in the best way and will reimburse as soon as possible.
