Stel je eens voor: even blazen bij de huisarts en direct weten of je een longziekte hebt. Het lijkt sciencefiction, maar binnen afzienbare tijd moet het kunnen. Via de e-nose, een slim apparaatje dat longziekten 'ruikt'. Binnenkort start een onderzoek om de e-nose bij huisartsen en ziekenhuizen te testen. Het onderzoek vindt plaats dankzij de deelnemers van de VriendenLoterij.
Op 27 juni 2017 is de 'call for proposals' voor internationale fellowships van start gegaan. Deze fellowships zijn bedoeld om jonge getalenteerde onderzoekers te ondersteunen bij hun specialisatie en bij het uitbreiden van hun wetenschappelijke netwerk.
