Flashback 13th NRS YIS & Vacancy NRS Young Investigator Board members
Friday November 12 the NRS Young Investigator Board organised the 13th NRS Young Investigator Symposium with the theme ‘Out of the box’, live in Amsterdam! The young investigators were challenged to think outside the box with keynote presentations on lung imaging, thoracic surgery, lung immunology, lung mechanics and lung models. Thanks again to dr. Peter Bonta, MD, dr. Michiel Erasmus MD, dr. Erik Verschuuren and ir.dr. Frans de Jongh for your inspiring talks! We also organised an ‘out of the box’ quiz. The participants showed some skills outside the box as after a tie-break the m&m’s sorting determined the winning team! During the masterclasses many great research (proposals) were presented and discussed by the young investigators. The interactive workshop on creative thinking led by dr. ir. Michele Gerbrands was also a great success for participants to experience another way of sensing, thinking and acting.
After two years of NRS Young Investigator Board membership and two years of chairing this board, I have now left the board. For me it was really a pleasure to get to know the members of the NRS board, to obtain some insights in the NRS activities and networking opportunities, but more importantly to work together with enthusiastic and dedicated members of the NRS Young Investigator Board in supporting and encouraging young investigators to be actively involved in the respiratory field. Thank you again for this opportunity!
The NRS Young Investigator Board is now looking for an enthusiastic postdoc or 3rd/4th-year PhD student to become a member of our board! Do you want to support and represent the young investigators in the respiratory field? Please join the NRS Young Investigator Board and apply now by sending your resume and motivation letter to nrs@nrs-science.nl before the 10th of January 2022.
Dr. Anke Lenferink, former chair NRS Young Investigator Board
