The researchers of the Dutch National Program Lung Research of the NRS aim to submit the research proposal 'P4O2 - Precision Medicine for more Oxygen' to the Match Call of Health~Holland at 9 October 2019. We are looking for partners in artificial intelligence, big data, bioinformatics, pharma, diagnostics and other related fields. You may already have had a look at the brochure. This project will address risk factors in the exposome for developing lung disease, mechanisms of lung damage and repair, biomarkers for early detection of lung damage and new therapeutic targets. Available data will be combined with new information obtained by innovative techniques, new models will be set up, and a cohort with healthy, middle-aged individuals will be followed for 5 years to collect samples that will be analyzed in the search for signs of early lung damage.
In the evening of the 17th of September 2019 a meeting will be organized in Utrecht for interested parties. At the meeting we will give a short presentation about the P4O2 project. We will be joined by Prof. Eline Slagboom, who will present the Public Private Initiative 'VOILA' that is supported by Health~Holland. Ivo de Nooijer will tell you all there is to know about setting up a public-private partnership (PPP – including considerations for companies) and we will organize a presentation about the experiences of a company that joined a PPP. Another meeting will be organized at the ERS congress in Madrid in the evening of the 29th of September 2019. We are now also setting up a meeting at the ESPEN congress on 31 August - 3 September, 2019, in Krakow, Poland. More information will be available on the website.
